A new online exhibition by Cumberland-born photographer Robin Oliver has been launched.
The City Civic Exhibition: A Portrait of a Landscape is being rolled out in four stages, with the first instalment having gone live on Monday, October 7.
The exhibition begins modestly, with photographs showing Carlisle Civic Centre's structure and 'bringing in the surrounding trees and other plants.'
The next waves of photos were uploaded on Monday, October 14, and on Monday, October 21, with the final instalment to be added on Monday, October 28.
Spanning a decade, from 2014 to 2024, the collection captures urban forms as captured through Mr Oliver's lens and teases out 'contrast, difference, indifference, and agreement between objects.'
The collection is centred on Carlisle's Civic Centre, which Mr Oliver sees as a distinctive feature of the city, and one that deserves a second look.
Mr Oliver grew up on a family farm at the foot of Cold Fell.
It is a landscape to which Mr Oliver feels he is 'hefted,' 'like the sheep, cattle, and wild deer which have long roamed there.'
