Training scenario sees Whitehaven Coastguard Rescue Team rescue a walker and the crew of vessel that had run aground.
The coastguard team's training last night was focused on water rescue at operations level. All members of the team are trained to at least water operations level with some trained up to technical level.
Members of the team took part in simulations that covered rescue a walker who had fallen from the pier and extracting casualties from a vessel that had run aground on rocks in rough seas.
Writing on social media, Whitehaven Coastguard said: "HM Coastguard has a national footprint and capability, so are well placed to not only respond in areas of our responsibility, but also to support response elsewhere, such as inland.
"HMCG, as a Category 1 Responder, are registered on the DEFRA National Flood Rescue Asset Register and as such respond to and support major incidents as part of a regional or national response."
