TWO men arrested following reports of shoplifting in North Cumbria.
Cumbria Police officers were called out following several reports of shoplifting in Penrith.
One of the men who was arrested was also charged with carrying an illegal substance.
In a post on social media, Cumbria Police wrote: "Officers responded to reports from local stores using direct shop watch radios of shopliftings ongoing inside numerous stores by a small group.
"As a result, we dispatched officers to live radio reports direct from the local stores.
"Numerous stores in Penrith town centre have access to a shop watch radio and can communicate directly with the local police.
"Two young males were detained and arrested this afternoon for theft and one for being in possession of an illegally controlled drug. Investigations are ongoing."
