A conference aimed at tackling the education sector's recruitment and retention crisis has been held in Cumbria.
The 'Just People HR' Education Sector Conference took place at North Lakes Hotel, Penrith, on September 30.
The event attracted 90 school leaders from across the region.
Speakers discussed practical solutions to the staffing shortage in schools, including the use of AI technology to reduce workload, flexible working arrangements, and fostering a positive workforce culture through effective leadership.
Former Lib Dem leader Tim Farron addressed national and political demands on the teaching profession.
The conference aimed to help attract and retain teachers in the face of increasing pressures to fill gaps in services for young people, such as mental health and social services.
Jem the Juggler, fresh from a summer of engagements including Glastonbury's main stages, was present to help shape a vision for the future.
