Police have been ticketing vehicles after complaints of cars obstructing the road or pavement.

Officers from the Copeland Neighbourhood Policing Team said they were conducting foot patrols in Whitehaven town centre, and tickets have started to be issued after obstruction offences were identified, adding that this will continue.

A spokesperson from the team said: "Please take care when parking and do not obstruct the highway or pavement or contravene any road traffic regulations."
