THE inquest into the death of a man who was found unresponsive in his home in Carlisle has been opened.
Kevin Metcalfe, 56, was discovered at his property on Maitland Street on July 3, 2024.
He was pronounced dead by paramedics at 5.20pm.
Area Coroner for Cumbria, Ms Kirsty Gomersal, said that a post-mortem examination offered a cause of death of heroin/morphine toxicity.
Mr Metcalfe, who was born in Blackpool, was single, and his last occupation unknown at this stage.
Offering her condolences to Mr Metcalfe's family and friends, Ms Gomersal set a provisional date for the conclusion of the inquest of January 30, 2025.
