ONE of Cumbria's top chefs said it is 'truly wonderful' after Farlam Hall was given four Red Stars at the 2024 AA Hospitality Awards on Monday night (September 23).
Farlam Hall, near Brampton, has been praised for its 'top class hospitality' and is now recognised as one of the best hotels in the country.
The award comes after a "stellar run of wins and accolades" for Hrishikesh Desai and his team, who run the Cedar Tree restaurant on the grounds of the hotel.
Hrishikesh joined Farlam Hall together with director Karen Baybutt less than two years ago and have since risen to the heights of the National Restaurant Awards T100, crowned Sunday Times Best Foodie Destination, included in Boutique Hoteliers T50 and the restaurant awarded a Michelin Star in this years' (2024) ceremony.

"To be elevated to four Red Stars is to me, truly wonderful’ said Hrishikesh.
"We came to Farlam Hall with a dream of creating a beautiful, boutique destination in a spectacular and under-appreciated part of Cumbria.
"With more and more guests venturing along historic Hadrian's Wall to find us, we're lucky enough to be starting to realise that dream!
"We've got plenty more up our sleeves; the launch of Hrishi's Table, our private dining experience, pushes us again creatively and we're excited to show the world what else we can do," he said.
Kathy Mares and Joseph Walter, owners of the hotel, said: "We are so very proud of what Hrishikesh, Karen, and the entire team have accomplished in such a short time to make Farlam Hall one of the finest boutique hotels in the UK."
