EMERGENCY teams have been called out to a red flare sighting off the coast of Maryport.
Whitehaven Coastguard Rescue Team were called out to three taskings yesterday, September 23 from the Maritime Rescue Coordinator Centre Belfast Coastguard.
𝗖𝗔𝗟𝗟𝗢𝗨𝗧 #𝟳𝟮 - 𝗥𝗲𝗱 𝗙𝗹𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗦𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 - 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝘆𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁
Tasked along with Maryport Coastguard Rescue Team, after a 999 call was received reporting a flare off Maryport/Flimby area.
Investigations were carried out by the Ops Room, whilst Coastguard Rescue Teams observed from local vantage points. With no further information from the public or any vessels, teams were stood down.
𝗖𝗔𝗟𝗟𝗢𝗨𝗧 #𝟳𝟯 - 𝗛𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗼𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗟𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗦𝗶𝘁𝗲 - 𝗞𝗲𝘀𝘄𝗶𝗰𝗸
Having returned to station and whilst closing down from the previous tasking, we were tasked to attend Keswick and establish a secure Helicopter Landing Site for Coastguard Rescue Helicopter 199 from prestwick, which was landing to transfer a casualty to North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust, collected from a tasking with Keswick Mountain Rescue Team.
Once the casualty was safely in the ambulance and R199 departed, we were stood down.
