A MAN has died after being found unresponsive by a group of walkers on Skiddaw.
Keswick Mountain Rescue Team has reported that it was called at 12.39pm on Friday, September 20, by a group of hikers that had discovered a man who had collapsed and was unresponsive on the mountain's summit ridge.
The team posted on Facebook that the group immediately started CPR on the man while calling emergency services.
Great North Air Ambulance Service also dispatched a helicopter which landed nearby while mountain rescue team members ascended the mountain from Dodd Wood.
The team posted: "Despite the best efforts of all involved nothing could be done to save the man.
"Our thoughts and condolences go to the man's family and friends."
