Whitehaven and Workington MP, Josh MacAlister has unveiled his top three priorities for bus travel in West Cumbria.
As part of Cumberland Council’s bus plan, the 22 route has been revived, connecting, Egremont, Cleator and Cleator Moor.
Cumberland Council have also ‘protected’ the Frizington to Cockermouth service until March next year.
Phase two of the council’s plans are set to be consulted on in the upcoming weeks and Josh MacAlister has said he is focused on ‘connecting rural communities’ which was highlighted in a bus survey undertaken last year.
Mr MacAlister has called for a new service connecting Gosforth, Seascale, Egremont and into Whitehaven.

He has also a called for a longer-term solution for the 217 Frizington to Cockermouth service and for buses to be brought back to Parton and also connecting Moresby Parks into town.
Labour have recently unveiled more plans for local authorities to have more powers to reform and revive bus servWorkingices in their communities.
