OVER £5,000 has been raised for Carlisle Youth Zone at the Great North Run 2024.
Ten runners took part in the historic 13.1-mile race which took place in Newcastle on Sunday, September 8 to raise funds for the youth club, which is located on Victoria Place.
The Great North Run involved approximately 60,000 other competitors, with the Carlisle Youth Zone's collective helping to raise £5,476 for the youth club.
Speaking after announcing the 'total so far', Carlisle Youth Zone thanked all of its participants for their efforts.
Writing on social media, they said: "Thanks to our incredible runners, we are thrilled to announce that they have collectively raised an amazing £5,476.08 for Carlisle Youth Zone.
"This incredible amount will go directly towards ensuring that we can continue providing a safe and fun space for young people in our community.
"A massive thank you to everyone who has contributed, and to our 10 amazing runners who gave it their all during the Great North Run."
