CUMBRIA Police have visited a West Cumbrian college as part of Freshers Week.
An officer visited Lakes College to speak to students about the risk of taking drugs and also the opportunities that can be found by joining the police.
Students were informed of the dangers that taking drugs can bring to their career, particularly joining the police or nuclear sector.
In a post on social media, Cumbria Police wrote: "PC 2165 Shield from the nuclear estate's team has been at Freshers Week at Lakes College West Cumbria talking about policing, the dangers of drugs and about the different avenues in the police, including her team the Cumbria Constabulary Nuclear Estates Team.
"It's been a really informative morning, talking to students new and old, about joining the police and the consequences of taking drugs.
"Talking about the consequences of taking drugs doesn't just prevent you from joining the police, it can stop you from gaining employment in the nuclear industry and other sectors in the public and private sectors."
