CUMBRIA Police have been dealing with parking concerns in Carlisle.
Motorists have been using a corner outside a school as a drop-off point.
This is causing concerns for drivers as police say it heightens the risk of an accident.
In a post on social media, Cumbria Police wrote: "Responding to reports from concerned members of the public in relation to motorists using the junction of Sycamore lane and Garlands road as a pickup and drop off point for the school run.
"This has resulted in several near misses including head-on collisions as drivers are having to use the other side of the road due to the unnecessary obstruction caused.
"We would ask that drivers use consideration for other road users when stopping (especially when dropping children off) there is plenty of room further down the road.
"Ignoring the no-waiting cones is enforceable. Those who ignore it will be prosecuted - This has been put into place to prevent accidents the cones are only in the area of the junction this is not the whole length of Sycamore Lane.
"Further work with the local authority and the road safety partnership is underway with a more permanent solution in consideration."
