A much-loved Workington grandfather-of-eight and popular figure of the town's community has tragically died following a collision last week.
Anthony Jackson, better known to many in the community as Tony, was a beloved father and grandfather and active member of the armed forces community in the town.
Mr Jackson, 66, was pronounced dead at the scene of a two vehicle crash in County Durham last week.
The incident happened at around 12.40pm on Friday, August 30 on the A68 at High Stoop, outside the Brown Horse Pub and involved a car and a motorbike.
Tony was a popular member of the armed forces community in Workington having served in the Border Regiment and the Royal Green Jackets and was the chairman of the Duke of Lancaster Association West Cumberland branch.
He leaves behind his wife, Lesley, children Philip, Sharon, Jamie, Matthew, and Sam, and grandchildren Phillipa, Philip, Cayden, Beau, Alex, Patrick, Albie, and Rosie.
Investigators would like to hear from anyone who saw the incident, or anyone who has any dashcam footage from the area prior to the collision.
