A hot New York all-girl garage punk group will make their way to Carlisle later this year.
The Darts will bring their incendiary sound to The Brickyard on October 11, touring with their new album Boomerang.
Local artists Shot Balowski, one-man punk show Adam Robson and DJ Liquidizer are opening for them, providing four acts in total for what is bound to be an epic night of high-energy, in-your-face rock.
Formed in 2016, the band was co-founded by Nicole Laurenne (vocals and keyboard) and Christina Nunez (bass), both veterans of the garage rock scene.
They soon added guitarist Michelle Balderrama and drummer Rikki Styxx to complete the lineup.
Their debut self-titled EP, released in 2016, garnered immediate attention for its explosive riffs and catchy hooks, quickly leading to a second EP and subsequent full-length albums like Me.Ow and I Like You But Not Like That.
They have toured across the USA and Europe, sharing the stage with acts like The Damned and L7.
Their unapologetically feminist approach to rock music, combined with their deep-rooted love for the genre’s classic garage sound in a similar vein to the likes of The Clash, has earned them a loyal fanbase and cemented their place in the contemporary garage-punk scene.
The event also marks a return to Carlisle by East Yorkshire-based promotors The Breakfast Club, particularly founder/owner Nigel Holmes whose established links in the city will be remembered by those in the scene.
Tickets cost £15 and can be bought in person from the Vinyl Cafe on Abbey Street, or online at See Tickets.
