ALMOST 200 babies were born in hospital across north and west Cumbria over the past month.
In August, 199 babies were born at either the Cumberland Infirmary or the West Cumberland Hospital.
The 199 babies included 101 girls, 98 boys and two sets of twins.
At the West Cumberland Hospital, there were 43 boys and 43 girls born during August.

The busiest day at the Cumberland Infirmary was on August 5 with seven births and the busiest day at the West Cumberland Hospital was August 15 and 29 with six births on each day.
A spokesperson for North Cumbria Integrated Care said: "Congratulations to all the new parents and carers."
