As summer ends we wanted to take a look at autumn for this Nostalgia edition.
Autumn is such a wonderful time as the seasons change and we get ready to welcome the winter months.
The season runs from September, through October and into November in the northern hemisphere.
It is the season when the duration of daylight becomes noticeably shorter and temperatures cool considerably.
In Western cultures, personifications of autumn are usually pretty, well-fed females adorned with fruits, vegetables and grains that ripen at this time. Many cultures feature autumnal harvest festivals, often the most important on their calendars.
These photos show how people in Cumbria have enjoyed the autumn months in years gone by. We hope these pictures bring back fond memories for some of you.
