A new listening cafe is set to launch in Workington this month, to allow the local community to share their experiences of health and social care.

Healthwatch Cumberland have announced the launch of their new listening cafe in Workington from 10am until 12pm on Friday, September 13 at the Carnegie Theatre and Arts Centre.

The organisation already runs a successful listening cafe in Carlisle, and has now expanded into Workington.

The cafe provides an opportunity for the local community, on a monthly basis, to come and share their experiences of health and social care.

Andy Millburn, community engagement officer with Healthwatch Cumberland, said: "We are an independent community-based organisation championing the views of local people who use Health and social care across Cumberland.

"We are keen for local communities to come forward and share their experiences so that together, we can shape and improve services for all. The listening cafe is another way for us to connect with local communities, gather feedback and more importantly, give a voice to those who are seldom heard. Thanks to Neil Schofield and his amazing team at the Carnegie Theatre, we now have a place to do this in Workington.

"Pop along to meet our team, have a cuppa, and share your experiences with us"
