A BRAMPTON secondary school has installed a new bike shed to encourage more staff and students to cycle to school.
William Howard School installed the new bike shed with help from Active Cumbria, which works in partnership with a wide range of organisations with a shared vision of increasing participation in physical activity and sport.
After unveiling the new bike shed at the beginning of the new academic year, the school encouraged more staff and students to use their bikes.
Speaking on social media, William Howard School said: "We’re promoting active travel to school this year and have installed a new bike shed, thanks to the generosity of Active Cumbria.
"This new facility allows students to securely store their bikes for the day, with the shed locked at the start of school and opened at the end.
"We’re also encouraging more of our staff to bike to school, and hope this will inspire our students to do the same.
"We strongly recommend that everyone wears a helmet when riding to school."
