A ‘big night out’ to raise funds for a river conservation charity will feature live music and dancing next month.
Eden Rivers Trust is holding the event at Lazonby Village Hal to raise vital funds and support their work in improving and protecting the rivers of the Eden area.
Cumbrian band Water’s Edge will play at the ‘Raise the Roof for Rivers’ event on September 21.
Elizabeth Radford, CEO of Eden Rivers Trust, said the ‘desperate state’ of the nation’s rivers is a hot news topic, naming sewage, pollution, the ‘biodiversity crisis’ and flooding as headline topics causing problems for humans and wildlife.
The charity, she said, is fighting said threats through various projects, and events like these are vital in ensuring they can continue to do so.
Tickets cost £21 and can be bought by calling Eden Rivers Trust on 01768 866788 or online at edenriverstrust.org.uk.
