Silloth Carnival has been rearranged after poor weather forced its cancellation over the bank holiday weekend.
The event was supposed to take place on August 24 and 25 but the recent poor weather led to the organisers rearranging the event.
Organisers said that they were prioritising the safety of volunteers and attendees whilst also avoiding ‘unnecessary damage’ to Silloth Green.
But despite the cancellation, organisers have been quick to rearrange the carnival on Sunday, September 1 – just a week after the original event.

Organisers have thanked Silloth Town Councillors for allowing them to change the date.
The event will include a funfair, craft stalls, live music, food stalls and a charity dog show.
The organising team have encouraged people to get involved with the parade which starts at Silloth Lifeboat Station at 12pm.
