Carlisle’s independent day school for boys and girls aged three to 18 has bid a fond farewell to three longstanding staff members ahead of the new school year.
Austin Friars has wished a happy retirement to Charles Hattrell, the school's director of music, and Gillian Wilson, assistant head of the Junior School.
Mr Hattrell has retired after a 24-year tenure with Ms Wilson also contributing 22 years, both playing pivotal roles in shaping the academic and personal growth of countless students.

The announcement follows after Matthew Harris announced his departure from his role as headmaster after 12 years at the end of the academic year.
Chris Hattam, the newly appointed headmaster, said: "The entire Austin Friars community would like to thank Mr Hattrell, Ms Wilson for all they have done for the pupils who have grown and developed under their care.
"Mr Harris has given Austin Friars a great deal during his tenure and leaves the school in a very strong position for the future.
"We hope that they all enjoy every moment of their new chapters, and wish them all the very best in their well-earned retirements," he said.
