A new ice cream parlour Pattinson's Parlour has opened in Carlisle's Market Hall.
The parlour was opened on Thursday, August 8 by Ross and Elaine Pattinson who also run the Milk Barn at Brampton's Temon Farm.
The new ice cream parlour is located in The Market Hall on Scotch Street and offers sweet treats such as freshly made ice cream, milkshakes, sundaes, and waffles.
as well as supplying Wetheral's newest ice cream Parlour, the Melting Pot, with their ice cream.
Ross and Elaine also sell their ice cream directly at Temon Farm and own a mobile 'treat box' which has been featured at local events such as the Dalston Show,Almost two weeks after Pattinson's Parlour's opening, Elaine was on hand to explain why the couple had decided to open this new location.
She said: "I was in the market in early June looking for a present for my daughter's birthday and I couldn't get over the number of people that were in here, I thought, wow, this is a proper food hall.
"We had a look round and contacted The Market Hall and within four weeks we were open.
"I'd like to grow the ice cream side and I would like to have one or two more shops dotted around the county.
"We are originally from Wigton and having the parlour in Carlisle is great. Sometimes the farm is a bit far for people to travel but this is just so much easier.
Elaine also discussed the 'amazing' response that the parlour ahs received from locals in the weeks since its grand opening.
She said: "There is nothing like a traditional ice cream parlour in Carlisle, there are bits and bobs here and there where people serve ice cream but there is not that traditional ice cream parlour.
"It is very new and the aim was to get open, up and running smoothly and grow as we go and the response from people has been amazing.
"It's hard work and long hours but it is nice to see something you have worked so hard on be successful."
