Annan prepares for its inaugural 'Gathering of the Clans' event this month.
Organised by Annan TheHistory Town Group, a colourful parade will be held on August 24.
Eight clan chieftains and the Lord Lieutenant will lead from the town centre to Everholm sports complex by the banks of the river Annan, flanked by the public and musical accompaniment from Annan Pipe Band and South West Scotland Pipes and Drums Academy.
The gathering, starting at 12.30pm, is declared open by the day's chieftain, David Thomson of Annandale Distillery.

Attendees can soak up a host of Scottish-themed entertainment, including performances from Clanadonia, the Highland and Scottish Country Dancing displays, youth fiddle group, Spectrum.
The day concludes with the inauguration of clan chief Carruthers.
A clan ceremony as such only occurs every several decades or more.
There will also be opportunities to delve into clan history, witness the Teviotdale Steel Bonnets, peruse more than 30 stalls, and participate in mini-highland games.
