A Cumbrian family will embark on a cycling challenge to raise money for a charity close to the heart of their community.
The Moore family, from Maryport, will cycle 10 miles this year for Maryport Rescue, a lifeboat charity.
Louise Moore, a Sellafield worker and mum of nine-year-old Poppy and seven-year-old Isaac, said her children have done a fundraiser every year for the past four years.
Mrs Moore explained that the charity selected is either close to them personally or to the community.
Last year they decided to raise money for the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle after they treated Isaac when he suffered from an inflamed appendix.
Maryport Rescue is greatly important for the town and neighbouring areas as it provides life-saving help for people in peril at sea.
They rely on donations, and should the Moore family reach their goal, the charity will be £300 better off.
Mrs Moore said she encourages her children to fundraise to build character and instil in them the importance and benefit of helping others in need.
Poppy said raising money for charities makes her feel happy and that she is doing something good for her community.
The children, mum, and dad Matthew Moore will complete the cycle before October.
The fundraiser, which has so far raised £105 at the time of reporting, is accessible by clicking here.
