A DRINK-DRIVER has been banned from getting behind the wheel for 16 months.
Kevin Dyer, 66, was driving near Deanscales in Workington on May 30. A breath sample showed he had 59mcg of alcohol in 100ml of breath. The legal limit is 35mcg.
The defendant pleaded guilty to driving a motor vehicle with alcohol level above the limit when he appeared before Workington Magistrates’ Court on Monday.
Magistrates imposed a 16-month driving ban, to be reduced by 16 weeks, if he completes the drink-drivers’ rehabilitation course
Dyer, of James Park Homes, Egremont, was fined £228. He must also pay £85 costs and a £91 victim surcharge.
