Stuart, of Abbey Close, Workington, assaulted the female in Workington on September 28 last year.
Magistrates imposed an 18-month community order with 60 hours of unpaid work. A restraining order was granted, which bans Stuart from contacting the female by any means for a year.
Stuart was ordered to pay £620 costs and a £114 surcharge.
