A TRAINING exercise will take place at a secondary school in Brampton, with fire crews asking the public to be assured that there is no danger to people in the town.

Tonight, April 17 Brampton Fire Station, Longtown Fire Station and Carlisle East Fire Station will be attending a planned breathing apparatus training exercise at William Howard School in Brampton.

The exercise is due to begin at 18:45, however fire crews say there may be emergency service activity on site earlier than this to prepare.

A statement from Brampton Fire Staton on social media, said: "Especially to those in the immediate vicinity of the school, we understand this might be alarming if not made aware.

"So please rest assured that this is all to ensure our crews maintain the highest level of skills should they be needed, and not an emergency itself."
