BARROW AFC manager Pete Wild has piled the praise on 'excellent' goalkeeper Paul Farman ahead of this weekend's clash with Sutton United.

Ahead of this game against Matt Gray's inform Us, Barrow are unbeaten in four games, winning three, with Farman at the centre of this success.

Another outstanding performance from the Bluebirds shot-stopper helped Barrow claim another important three points against Michael Flynn's Walsall.

IFarman dealt adeptly with five shots on target and ahead of the visit of Sutton United, Wild discussed the importance of having a settled and inform goalkeeper.

He said: "If a goalkeeper makes a mistake it is magnified more than any other position because he is the last line of defence but when he makes outstanding saves like he did again at the weekend it shows what a really good goalkeeper he is.

"He's not just a good goalkeeper but he is a really good person to have around the club because he is excellent in the dressing room.

"He is a really good calm voice and I think he has really helped everybody through these difficult periods.

"he has pulled out save after save and I always say in every game you are going to need you goalkeeper at least once."

Wild also praised Farman's character after a difficult spell earlier in the season.

He said: "Another clean sheet for him on Saturday, every goalkeeper every season has a difficult period, and what I like about Paul is he has come through that with flying colours and he has shown his character and what a good goalkeeper he is."
