CONSTRUCTION work has begun to make Carlisle home to a tee-riffic dinosaur themed adventure golf course.

The team behind Fusion, Carlisle's Trampoline Park, will soon be announcing the grand opening of their exciting attraction on par with the best of them as part of their commitment to expand to become the city's premier family-fun zone.

The 18-hole outdoor mini-golf course, which will feature everything from 15-metre tall animatronic dinosaurs, erupting volcanoes, waterfalls and even a raft to pull yourself between holes, hopes to arrive in the city before Easter.

Business owners Bev and Steve Butterfield and Andy and Helen Ince have invested £300,000 into the golf course, which comes shortly after a further £200,000 was spent on a self-propelled zip line rollercoaster and a new three-floor soft play zone into the site on Millrace Road.

The outdoor golf course will be a suited addition to the already exuberant offering of over 100 individual trampolines, a dodgeball area, climbing wall, a huge air bag, ninja warrior, slam-dunk and cardio wall challenge.

Director Steve Jeffery said: "We didn't want nice, we wanted incredible.

"We're really thinking hard about making every hole an event and every hole is fun, it's got to be attainable for kids but challenging and fun for all ages. I think kids will just love it," he said.

The family business bounced onto the scene in 2016, after a successful run out of their original business in Preston.

The course is set to be open in the evening, so it won't just be a daytime activity in Carlisle

"We love it up here, that's why we're continually investing. The feedback we get from the trampoline park has been incredible - so we thought, it was well worth continuing to invest in the area to give families even more of an offering in the city.

"We're really looking forward to it opening," he said.

Once the course is up and running, the venue will be able to be hired for birthday parties and the likes, with plenty of special promotion offers to be announced in the future alongside the grand unveiling date.
