A COMPANY which owns two prominent hospitality venues will be officially dissolved in two months, after weeks of speculation around its future.
Western Lake District Hotels Ltd, which own both Fredericks Bar Lounge & Restaurant in Cockermouth and the prominent Hunday Manor Hotel in Windscales, has placed a notice in the first gazette on Companies House that it will be dissolved in two months.
The notice states that, unless there are 'cause to the contrary', the company will be dissolved in two months of the date published, January 24.
The notice also states that upon the companies dissolution all properties and rights vested in, or held in trust for the company are deemed to be 'bona vacantia' and will belong to the Crown.
Earlier this month, Hunday Manor Hotel, Windscales, Workington displayed a sign saying that they would be closed 'until further notice' as many feared for the business's future.
Fredericks, Cockermouth also displayed a similar sign around the same time.
Many bookings for weddings and longstanding engagements faced much uncertainty - with people speculating what had happened at the business.
