It was the moment Brunton Park paid its respects.

A poignant rendition of the Last Post played at Carlisle United's stadium ahead of their game against Walsall.

The Blues used the game as their Remembrance fixture, with players, staff and fans paying tribute to those who paid the ultimate price.

The match at United's ground, held a day after Armistice Day, saw players from both teams line up around the centre circle.

Poppy wreaths were then carried onto the pitch by Lance Corporal Pete Rees, a veteran from the King's Own Royal Border Regiment, and Lance Corporal Luke Myers from the Duke of Lancaster's Regiment.

They saluted as the Last Post was played as 5,493 supporters fell silent in respect.

United also marked the fixture with a Remembrance themed cover of their matchday programme.
