Bursaries are being made available thanks to OneAIM, Sellafield Ltd and the Centre for Leadership Performance for senior leaders who want to improve their leadership capability. 

The applications are open to organisation across the Copeland and Allerdale areas and are aimed at supporting the development of small business and third sector leaders in west Cumbria. 

Delegates are able to develop their leadership skills alongside other leaders over the course of eight months and also providing a network they can turn to, even when the programme has been completed.

The programme maximises real-life learning opportunities allowing delegates to examine and compare individual and business experiences. The programme provides a platform for leaders to collaborate to produce solutions to key challenges and to put new learnings into practice.

Lee Grears, Group Managing Director at Responsive Ltd, said: "The scheme gave us access to a leadership course that we wouldn’t have otherwise been able to access."

The programme is designed by learning and development experts who have also ‘walked the talk’, working as senior leaders, this brings together cutting-edge learning in leadership with real-life business experience. ‘

It is said to empower business leaders to take on challenges they face in businesses and providing them with a network they can turn to, to discuss similar experiences.

By upskilling the leaders in West Cumbria businesses go from strength to strength and can empower their workforce. 

The cost of programmes for small businesses can often be a barrier to upskilling staff, by providing the bursaries it opens the pool of applicants and by widening participating will help to support the success of the local economy and local communities. 

Schools, non- profit and SMEs based in Copeland and Allerdale are encouraged to apply for a place on the upcoming November cohort. 

Applications will close on September 16, 2022 at 5pm.
