Carlisle's motorists will have nine road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

And three of them are expected to cause moderate delays – with drivers facing holdups of between 10 and 30 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that five closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

• M6, from 8pm July 27 to 6am August 31, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M6 northbound, junction 36 to 45 - Lane closure for Construction improvement/Upgrade.

• M6, from 8pm July 28 to 6am September 1, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M6 northbound, junction 41 to 42 - Lane closure for Construction improvement/Upgrade.

• M6, from 8pm August 2 to 6am September 4, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M6 northbound, junction 42 - 44 lane closures and slip road closures due to improvements.

• M6, from 8pm August 2 to 6am September 4, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M6 northbound, junction 42 - 44 lane closures and slip road closures due to improvements.

• M6, from 12.30am August 14 to 6am September 11, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M6, junction 45 to 44 southbound, lane closures and slip road closures for road markings works.

And a further four closures will begin over the next seven days:

• A69, from 7pm September 1 to 6am September 2, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A69 Low Row - traffic signals to allow safe loop cutting works at westbound, Safety Camera.

• M6, from 8pm September 1 to 6am September 2, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M6 northbound, junction42 to 42, Lane closure for Construction improvement/Upgrade.

• M6, from 8pm September 3 to 6am September 4, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M6 southbound, junction 37 - 35, Lane closures and slip road closures due to improvements.

• A7, from 8pm September 5 to 5am September 9, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M6, junction 44 and northbound, entry slip road, Lane closures and slip road closure for traffic signal head replacement.

Police Speed Camera Van Locations:

Cumbria Police have revealed the locations of their speed camera vans today.

‘’Today our Road Safety Camera vans will be operating in Salterbeck, the A65 between Lupton & Kendal, the A6 between Kendal & Shap, the A596 between Workington & Aspatria, Seaton and the M6 J38 to J35.’’
