CARLISLE motorists are being warned that an M6 lane is closed between J44-J45 whilst emergency barrier repairs are carried out this morning. 

Traffic monitoring website Inrix states: "One lane closed due to emergency barrier repairs on M6 in both directions between J45 A74(M) Gretna Green and J44 A689 (Carlisle North). Traffic is coping well."

National Highways has also revealed a number of M6 repairs being carried out which will cause delays

• M6 up until August 31: slight delays (under 10 minutes): M6 northbound, junction 36 to 45 - Lane closure for Construction improvement/Upgrade.

• M6, up until 6am September 1: slight delays (under 10 minutes): M6 northbound, junction 41 to 42 - Lane closure for Construction improvement/Upgrade.

• M6 up until 6am September 4: moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M6 northbound, junction 42 - 44 lane closures and slip road closures due to improvements.

• M6, up until 6am September 4, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M6 northbound, junction 42 - 44 lane closures and slip road closures due to improvements.

• M6, up until 6am on August 14, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M6, junction 45 to 44 southbound, lane closures and slip road closures for road markings works.

Meanwhile Cumbria Police have revealed today's speed camera locations

A police spokesman said: "Today our Road Safety Camera vans will be operating in Seascale, Grange-over-Sands, the A595 between Sellafield & Millom, the A590 between Brettargh Holt & Newby Bridge and the M6 South."
