A THIRTY-seven-year-old man has pleaded guilty to stealing two bottles of Prosecco from Tesco in Carlisle on August 5.
Paul Murphy, from Colston Street, Newcastle, pleaded guilty to the theft when he appeared before the city’s Rickergate Magistrates’ Court.
He will be sentenced on October 3.
Until then, he was granted bail on condition that he lives and sleeps each night at his current Newcastle address; and he must also report to his local police station at appointed times on Tuesdays and Fridays.
The defendant was represented by defence lawyer Jeff Smith.
