DRIVERS heading to or travelling on the M6 should expect delays following a collision between junction 44, Gretna and junction 45, Carlisle.
The report of a road traffic collision was made to Police at 3:05pm today on the M6 between the two junctions.
The collision involved an artic and a car. Police said there are no reported injuries.
The road was blocked in both directions whilst emergency services attended the scene
Whilst recovery is taking place, congestion is still being experienced in and around the area.
The accident has reportedly occured on the northbound carriage. However, both the northbound and southbound direction are affected.
Lane 3 remains closed in both directions on the M6 for emergency barrier repairs.
National Highways is warning drivers to allow extra time when travelling that way.
