Police are investigating an assault that left a man in his 20s with a fractured jaw.

It happened outside Gallaghers Bar in Whitehaven between 1:45am and 2:30am on Saturday, August 6.

The injured man is in his 20s and black t-shirt and a black cap and blue jeans.

Officers are appealing for witnesses that may have seen a man, also in his 20s, wearing grey trainers, grey joggers and a grey t-shirt, punch the man outside the bar.

A 23-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of GBH and has been released under investigation.
