Many people gathered at the racecourse on each night to enjoy a screening of a world class musical with a backdrop of the Cumbrian racecourse.

People were told to bring along a blanket, camping chair or a picnic to enjoy the screenings which began after sunset.

The racecourse also provided hot food, snacks and alcoholic drinks for guests to enjoy with seating for those with VIP tickets.

The Saturday night screening of Mama Mia was particularly special as it celebrated the 50th anniversary of ABBA.

The movie was described as: "The story of a bride-to-be trying to find her real father told using hit songs from everyone's favourite Swedish pop group, ABBA.

"Plus music from the 70s and 80s to enjoy before the film, with a soundtrack of disco and party classics."

The next race meet will be on Tuesday, August 9 for the Steak Night Evening raceday and then on Friday, August 19 for the Carlisle Youth Zone raceday.
