A 90-year-old man has been airlifted to hospital with life-threatening injuries after a car crash.
The crash involved a 90-year-old pedestrian and an 80-year-old driver of a Skoda Fabia in Penrith.
The driver of the Skoda was uninjured, but the pedestrian was airlifted to the Royal Victoria Infirmary with injuries described as life-threatening.
The crash happened on the A66 at Baron's Hill this morning.
The road is going to remain closed in both directions for 'some time' while officers conduct their enquiries, police say.
Police are appealing for any information about this to aid in their investigation.
