An animals’ charity is inviting people join its fun day, for all the family and their pets.

Oak Tree Animals’ Charity, based in Wetheral, is going to be putting on their Fun Dog Show at Hammond’s Pond later this year.

Participants are promised a ‘pawsome’ day of fun, which will include dog training and behaviour advice, children’s crafts, a raffle and a pet tombola.

The event will run from 1pm until 3pm on Saturday, September 10.

The show is £3 per class, or £5 for two.

The classes include musical sits (musical chairs for dogs), rover retrieve to see which dog can retrieve the most balls, happiest hound, best trick, temptation alley – a class that tests a dog’s obedience, fastest recall, ball and spoon race, and a treat catch.

This sports day for pets is set to be fun for the whole family and their pets.

For younger trainers, there is the young trainer class, for handlers up to 16 years old, and there is even a category for rescue dogs – best rescue.

Refreshments are available at the Hammond's Pond Café, and there is free parking on site.
