A YOUNG man who stole a Sainsbury’s gift voucher in Carlisle and assaulted a woman has been given 80 hours of unpaid work.
Lazar Muntean, 22, admitted those two offences and an allegation of using threatening behaviour when he appeared before the city’s Rickergate court. He committed all three offences on March 2, the court heard.
The defendant, of Washwood Heath Road, Birmingham, must pay £75 compensation to the victim of the common assault.
He must also pay £200 prosecution costs – more than the standard £85 because he had originally denied the offences and the case was prepared for a trial.
Muntean’s guilty plea was taken into account.
