Carlisle United have announced a new kit sponsor ahead of the new season.

The Blues will have the logo of Cumbrian mineral water company Aqua Pura on their shorts in the 2022/23 campaign.

It is the latest kit sponsorship deal struck by the Cumbrians after the links with main short sponsor Bimson Haulage and back-of-shirt sponsor Story Homes.

Aqua Pura are based in Armathwaite and United said they were pleased to have another local firm on board.

"This is a new partnership for the club and we’re absolutely delighted that such a strong local brand-name has come on board," said the Blues' new commercial sales manager Dabbie Huddart.

“We’re really looking forward to seeing their logo on the shorts for the first game of the season, and we know that the drinks they supply will be very popular with our fans.

“Everybody at Aqua Pura has been so easy to deal with, I can’t thank them enough. This is another example of a positive partnership that will benefit all parties, and I’m sure that it will only grow stronger as we go on from here.”

Aqua Pura’s deputy plant manager Matthew Fearn said the company was "thrilled" to be sponsoring the Blues.

“At Aqua Pura we’re truly passionate about our local area thanks to Cumbria being a great home to us for over 30 years," he said.

“As our local football club, which is just up the road from where Aqua Pura water is sourced and bottled, the partnership will give us the opportunity to get more involved with the local community here in Cumbria, while keeping supporters hydrated during the season.”

The new season gets under way on Saturday with United taking on Crawley Town at Brunton Park.
