Workington Reds have confirmed the signing of Carlisle City hotshot Jordan Palmer.

The forward is the latest player to join Danny Grainger's squad at Borough Park.

Palmer's prolific form helped City to the Northern League Division Two title last season.

And it has now earned him a further step up to NPL West at Workington.

Palmer has been with Workington in pre-season and, speaking on the club website, manager Grainger said: "He is a local lad who has done well in the area and we are confident he will come in and continue to develop.

"We look forward to seeing him in a Reds shirt."

Palmer's arrival at Borough Park follows the recent additions of Cleator Moor Celtic utility man Tom Mahone and former Carlisle United forward James Hooper.

His departure from Carlisle City comes ahead of their Northern League Division One opener against Sunderland RCA on Saturday.

Palmer hit 69 goals in 103 games for City, including 33 last year.

"We wish Jordan good luck at his new club and the door is always open for his return," City said in a statement.
