Sneak-peek into Carlisle's newest bar This Time

The team that brought you In The Meantime are set to introduce their newest and extremely well-decorated sister-bar, This Time, which is scheduled for its opening day and night this Saturday, July 30.

The new two-storey premises, situated on Devonshire Street, arrives just three years after In The Meantime landed on the scene.

No matter what your tipple is, the bar is stacked to the rafters with drafts including Guinness, Madri, Coors, Mosaic lager and Rekordelig alongside local pints such as Helles. 

And if that's not to your fancy, don't worry, there's plenty of options by way of cocktails; everything from negronis to daiquiris alongside many of the bar's twists on modern classics.

As you step under the awning, you'll be greeted by a room full of smiley staff members and good music with your attention being drawn to well-placed random and humourous artwork donning the walls, offering the perfect spot to grab a pew in front of the windows and sip your cares away as you people-watch.

But perhaps, if you're looking for something a bit more secluded, the upstairs is tailor-made for that purpose, perhaps even a perfect spot for a date.

Working round the original building's features, they've converted an old lift shaft into a second-floor bar, making drinks a mere arm's length away.

One of the owners, Matty Boak, said he hopes the bar offers a more lounge-like environment, an aspect of city centre life he feels Carlisle has been missing out on.

"I'm absolute thrilled to be opening our second bar this coming Saturday, it's been an exciting and hard work in the build-up to it and we can't wait to show the people of Carlisle what we've been working on," he said.
