A WORKINGTON amateur group have announced their latest show- and fans are in for a treat.
WAOS are currently rehearsing their upcoming production of Shrek and it’s anything but mediogre.
Auditions were held earlier in the year and the cast made up of Shrek, Princess Fiona, Donkey and all of your favourite fairy tale characters are very excited to be working together on such a fun show.
Based on the DreamWorks Animation film Shrek, this family fun musical follows a swamp-loving ogre who is joined on his quest by a wise-cracking donkey to reclaim the rights to his land from Lord Farquaad.
Along the way, the unlikely hero fights a fire-breathing dragon, recuses a gusty princess and discovers that friendship and love aren’t just true in fairy tales.
Jack Pike, who plays leading ogre Shrek, said “Playing Shrek is a great experience. I’m loving every second of it! It certainly helps that I get to act as grumpy on stage as I am when I’m off!”.
Shrek is being performed from the October.,11-15.
Tickets are on sale now via the Carnegie Theatre Box Office and online, get yours now for what we’re all sure will be a Shrek-tacular show.
