WORKINGTON Mark Jenkinson MP will host a number of Cost of Living drop in sessions.
The drop-ins, beginning next week, are an opportunity for people to discuss personal issues including utility bills and fuel prices, pension credit and housing.
Mark Jenkinson said: “I understand anxiety over rising prices. I want to assure you that the Government will continue to listen and to ensure that the policies in place do help those who need it most.
“These drop-ins are also an opportunity to discuss your own particular financial pressures – and hopefully to help them find ways to manage them.
“I don’t need to tell people that these are challenging times, but I want my constituents to know that I am here for them. It may be that some people or not claiming all the financial aid to which they are entitled; and others may be struggling to keep up with rental payments.
“I cannot make problems associated with the cost of living disappear – this is a complex problem. However, I am eager to listen and to help wherever I can – and to raise constructive suggestions with the ministers who help shape policy.”
The drop-ins are due to be held on Monday 25th July at the Silloth Community Centre; on Tuesday 26th July at the Cockermouth Christian Centre; Thursday 28th July at Moorclose Community Centre; and Friday 29th July at the Oval Centre, Salterbeck. Each session will be between 9.30 am and 2.30pm.
