The multi-award-winning Muncaster Castle is a must-see if you are looking for summer holiday fun, adventure and a fabulous family day out.

From the moment you arrive at Cumbria Tourism’s newly crowned Small Visitor Attraction of the Year – it’s clear that writer John Ruskin was accurate when he described the local views as a “Gateway to Paradise”.

The historic castle nestles in a stunning landscape – worth a trip for the views alone. But there is so much more for visitors of all ages.

Surrounded by 77-acres of woodland and gardens there’s the Enchanted Trail where your little people can hunt for the la’al folk. It winds amongst the trees through some of Muncaster’s hidden corners.

The amazing Yeti Adventure Quarry takes you high into the tree canopy with rope ladders, a suspended net bridge and slides. The Giant Swing sends you soaring up into the sky and there’s the adventure playground.
