A NEW chain will open in Keswick store this weekend, hot on the heels of Saltrock’s first Lake District store that opened in Kendal at the beginning of the year.

It is understood the shop is set to open on Saturday July 23, just in time for the summer holidays.

The new Saltrock store can be found in the former Holland & Barratt site at 33 Main Street, Keswick and will employ six new staff members in the town.

A surf heritage brand born out of North Devon, with 'a passion for the outdoors in the sea or on land', the brand was launched in Braunton in 1987.

Since then, the business has grown to more than 50 stores, online, and 70 wholesale accounts.

Saltrock’s MD, Karl Plank, said: “We are really excited about bringing Saltrock to Keswick, it is a perfect match for our brand heritage. We have a strong customer presence across Cumbria and when we were presented with this opportunity, in one of the key shopping destinations, we jumped at the chance.

"We are delighted with how the store looks and we are looking forward to hearing what our customers think of their new Keswick Saltrock”.

The Keswick store will mark part of the brand's UK expansion within a thriving market and continue to showcase its incredible mix of products to consumers that love the outdoors.

Marie Clarke, head of brand & marketing of Saltrock, added: "This is a great step for the Saltrock Brand. The new store environment celebrates the brand heritage while being relevant to each location.

"Keswick is an inspiring location for our new store and is an ideal opportunity to show our brand story and product line to the Lake District and to those who live in and visit the national park."
