A CARLISLE woman has pleaded not guilty to an alleged assault on her sister.
Sandra Beattie, 56, entered her not guilty plea when she appeared before a district judge at the city’s Rickergate court. She is accused of assaulting Susan Riley by beating her on June 5 in Carlisle, the court heard.
The defendant, of Vasey Crescent, Carlisle, was told that her case will be adjourned until August 24. District Judge John Temperley granted her bail on condition that she does not go to the street in Carlisle where the alleged victim lives.
Nor is she allowed to have any contact with Mrs Riley. Beattie was represented by defence lawyer Anthony Wilson.
